Software Engineer - Frontend

Your focus will be to deliver high quality interfaces extremely fast to millions of people.

Knowledge of modern Javascript best practices is a must (Browserify, CommonJS, AMD, templating, GULP). HTML & CSS skills (SASS, Bootstrap) and a strong opinion on frontend best practices is a bonus.

You hold a masters degree and have superior coding skills and an obsession for performance, high integrity and low ego, you're a team player, pragmatic problem-solver and self-driven ideally with successful samples of projects online (apps or open source contributions).

Having experience with most technologies in the Wikiloc tech stack (Java, SOLR, Redis, Nginx, Tomcat) is a bonus and we also value that you will be willing to learn and master whatever technology that we need in the future. Server side experience (Linux, shell scripting, networking) is also a plus.

Software Engineer - Systems & Infrastructure

As Wikiloc keeps growing our systems have to be re-architected to relieve bottlenecks, keep data safe and secure and make the ecosystem easier to maintain and evolve.

For this position the following experience is relevant to us:

  • Masters degree in computer science
  • Scaling high-traffic web apps (host architecture/databases/caching)
  • Performance benchmarking and monitoring tools
  • Java in a production environment
  • Web service/API design
  • Reconfiguring services on the fly
  • An eye for automation and instrumentation
  • Great communication skills
  • Solid experience with one or more of our areas Java, SOLR, Redis, Nginx, Tomcat is a bonus
