Orlando Wetlands Park - This city park came highly recommended by someone on the Facebook "Hiking in Central Florida" page. I almost got there at sunrise but Google map timing from my home wasn't exactly accurate. However, I did witness countless birds flocking from their nesting grounds right after sunrise. In mid-morning, the gators began to surface and savor the sunshine. The berm roads were comfortable and afforded that "in the thick of it" feel to my photog trek. I also liked that the trail has many benches throughout so that you can sit, make equipment adjustments, and/or sit and wait to become part of nature. I thoroughly enjoyed this location and see myself revisiting for years to come. It's absolutely amazing what a gem the City of Orlando has made out in Christmas. By the way, The Seminole Ranch is right there as is Fort Christmas Historical Park. More to see and do than a day can afford the hours to do them in. No pets but bicycles, horse, and pedestrians welcome. I saw families bicycle around the swamp, birders, photographers, and every type of nature love between. The crowds easily dissipate into the enormous vastness of the park. Everything is so well marked via road signs. Just grab yourself a map at the entrance and enjoy!
