Oravská Magura / Kysucká vrchovina (2/4)

Second day hike took us across the massif of Minčol (with the elevation of 1394m above sea level) and Paráč (1325m) to Kysucká vrchovina (Kysuce highlands). Compared to Orava Magura the countryside of Kysucká vrchovina is a bit different. The hills are generally smaller and vast forests gradually give way to pastures and highland meadows. Slopes above Zazrivá offer some breathtaking views of naighbouring Malá Fatra mountain range.

Finding fresh water when hiking these highlands tends to be an issue during summer season. There´s supposedly a couple of springs along the trails but we either failed to locate them or found them to be completely dry. Eventually we were forced to get some fresh water from a creek. For such eventuality carrying the water filter with you is highly recommended.
