Beautiful round route, medium level, between Coniston and Old Man, Lake District.

We started the route at 300 m of Coniston and we climbed up through a comfortable track to the right of Church Beck River, which it received us with beautiful cascades.

On the left, Minor Bridge (we went back through it) and continued to the mining valley, Coppermines Valley.

We walked leaving to the right the Yorkshire Mountaneering Club and near by Coppermines Cottage.

Then, we continued climbing up by a winding and stony path, besides to the old ruins of the abandoned copper, nickel and cobalt mines.

We reached the amusing Levers Water Lake (413 m), which is surrounded by mountains and hills. We walked around the lake buy it left and in front of deep fissure.

After that, we started a strong climb to the Coll of Savin Hill (700 m), with fantastic views of Levers Water and the surrounding valleys and hills.

We continued by a high level, but smooth to the Coll of Brim Fell (796 m)-

Then, continued climbing up to the top of Old Man (802 m), sadly the cold and fog stopped us to enjoy the views.

After that, we started the long descent by a very sloping ground; however it had excavated steps on the rocks. The track at this point was winding and we could see to our left Low Water Lake (551 m).

We continued going down to the interesting ruins of Coniston Quarries, where copper and slate were mining.

The track continued going down, with very good views of Coppermines Valley up to reach Miner Bridge. To the end of slope we finished this splendid route.
