Three separate trails, combined into a loop by including an out-of-the-park jaunt through Gatlinburg. This would allow a stop for lunch in Gatlinburg if desired, or even parking there (usually for $$) if wanting to start/end in town.

We started/ended our hike in the small parking area at the Sugarlands Headquarters Building. This is around 200 yards south of the Old Sugarlands Trail Trailhead on Newfound Gap Road (US-441).

Followed Old Sugarlands Trail, which is a 4 mile steady climb to the other end on Cherokee Orchard Road.

Followed Cherokee Orchard Road about a half mile north to the Noah "Bud" Ogle Cabin and Nature Trail.

Followed the right loop of the Nature Trail for a quarter mile until it intersects with the beginning of the Twin Creaks Trail.

Twin Creeks Trail is a steady 2 mile decent to the park exit, back on Cherokee Orchard Road. There were a lot of blowdowns for us, but that is not normally the case since this is a regular maintained trail.

Once leaving the park, it is 1+ miles of sidewalk through Gatlinburg, on Historic Nature Trail Road and US441 (the main strip through Gatlinburg).

Re-entering the park on US441 to pick up the beginning of the Gatlinburg Trail. This is an easy two miles back to the parking lot and car.
Branch right to stay on Old Sugarlands Trail, not get on to Grassy Branch Trail
