A relatively unknown hiking trail which was used by Omani military for stamina training. It is an unmarked trail and a guide is a must to avoid getting lost among the massive Wadi boulders.

It begins with a steep climb after crossing the Wadi. The terrain is laden with loose rocks and the lack of shade results in high dehydration and therefore is not suitable during summers.

The total verticle climb is 1496 metres (as per my Wikiloc app) and ends at the edge Al Awabi mountains with mesmerising view into the depths of Wadi Bani Kharous. The dancing clouds and vibrant shades of mountain brown will blow your mind and is worth every inch of the toil you took to get there.

Our return journey was over the Wadi edge. This was the trickiest part as the descent was very steep, slippery, and quiet scary at most places, exciting as well due to the adrenaline rush. We were supported by local Omanis on this trail, their experience and knowledge of the place kept us is one piece till the end of our journey.
