The itinerary is as follows:
Firenze Airport: getting rental car;
Pontassieve: actually via a route South of Firenze that Google Maps said was the quickest;
Diacceto: encountered some redirected roads, but I think I changed it correctly in the GPX;
Vallombrosa: beautiful road through the natural reserve;
Leccio: from here on to the A1 in the direction of Arezzo for a 1:10h highway drive to Umbria;
Castiglione del Lago: nice lunch town;
Montepulciano: I just drove through it, on my way to Pienza;
Monticchiello: again just drove through it, from here going South to SP18;
Pienza: must see village, already beautiful when approaching from the South over the SP18.
From here I went directly to Siena to my B&B address because of time limitations. The plans I had further are:
San Quirico d'Orcia;
Castiglione d'Orcia/Rocca d'Orcia;
So mind you: I have not driven this last part. The first part to Vallombrosa has some narrow and pretty steep streets, while the last part between Castiglione del Lago and Pienza has some gravel roads. Nothing serious, my Fiat 500 pulled through without a scratch or breaking a sweat. I recommend taking two days for this route, or just extracting parts of it for your own route. Cheers!
