East Bay Backroads

This ride starts in Clayton and follows Marsh Creek Road to Morgan Territory Road which becomes a one-lane winding road climbing the east flank of Mt. Diablo. South of Livermore, the ride follows Mines Road through a sparsely populated canyon to the "high point" of the ride on Mt. Hamilton where the Lick Observatory is located. Heading north via Calaveras Road, the ride becomes more suburban passing through San Ramon Valley but avoids the freeways.
