This hike takes you over one of Adirondacks's High Peaks. The trail from the parking lot to Marcy's Dam is pretty simple. Continue on the Van Hoevenberg trail, there will be a junction that spliit off to Phelps Mt. Within a mile the trail will rise about 1200 ft ( 365.76 m). Phelps Mt's peak is at a height of 4160 ( 1267.968 m).
